People often ask why I decided to train as aToastmaster...

I am a retired Police Officer, having served for over 31 years with The Metropolitan Police Service, 16 years of which was in various roles within the Royalty Protection Command as a Motor Cycle and Close Protection Officer and later as the operational head of The Special Escort Group.

I have a wealth of experience in the planning and delivery of a diverse range of private and public ceremonies and events, including Occasions of State. Therefore as you might expect, my presentation is immaculate and my preparation thorough. I have a practical approach to problem solving, the ability to adapt my style to suit any event or client, and the further ability to work in harmony and seamlessly with other professionals to produce as near a perfect result as possible.
The move to a career as a Toastmaster was obvious as it has allowed me
to continue to use many of the skills learned in my previous career.

Privately, I devote my time to my family, Lola the family Boxer Dog, motorcycling and photography. My eldest daughter Eleanor was married last year, at which of course my role was as 'Father of The Bride'. It was an amazing day, and a great privilege, and I get to repeat it again next year at the wedding of my youngest daughter.
I am proud also to have been appointed as Beadle to The Worshipful Company of Curriers, The Worshipful Company of Fanmakers and The Worshipful Company of World Traders, all livery companies of The City of London, work which I love to do, enabling me to play a part in the ancient customs and modern life of that amazing city
